Vaccinations
Building Lasting Relationships
Which vaccinations should your dog have?
At VeTZcapes, we're committed to keeping your furry companions in the best of health and spirits. In Tanzania, certain vaccinations are a must, while others are strongly advised to ensure your pet's well-being and happiness.
For starters, the Rabies vaccination is non-negotiable—it's a must for all dogs. But beyond that, we highly advocate for additional protection. We strongly recommend vaccinating your dog(s) against a range of serious threats, including the Distemper virus, Canine Adenovirus, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza virus.

At VeTZcapes, we believe in staying ahead of the game when it comes to your pet's health. That's why we see vaccinations not just as a precaution, but as a proactive step towards safeguarding your furry friend's well-being. From the notorious Parvovirus to the elusive Leptospirosis, our comprehensive vaccination services cover a range of highly contagious diseases, including Distemper, Adenovirus, and Rabies.
Rest assured, our team is equipped to handle all your pet's vaccination needs with care and expertise. Let us help you ensure that your beloved companion stays healthy and protected for years to come.
We're all about giving our youngest furry friends the best start in life. For puppies and kittens, we highly recommend starting with the initial vaccine series to provide them with optimal protection during their crucial early months. This involves vaccinations at weeks 6, 9, 12, and 16.
Feel free to chat with our vet about the recommended vaccination schedule tailored specifically for your pet. Once the series is complete, our vet will continue to administer additional vaccines to maintain their ongoing immunity.
We understand that vaccinations, like any medical treatment, may pose small risks of side effects. However, it's important to note that these side effects are typically rare and minor. The benefits of safeguarding your pet, your family, and the wider community from potentially life-threatening diseases far outweigh any potential risks associated with vaccinations. Rest assured, our team is dedicated to ensuring the well-being of your furry companion every step of the way.
We know that puppies and kittens need a series of vaccinations to gradually and effectively build up their immunity against various diseases during their early stages of life. Our vet is here to recommend a tailored series of vaccinations that suit both you and the specific needs of your pet. Rest assured, we're committed to providing the best care for your furry friend every step of the way.
We want to ensure your pet's safety at all times. While allergic reactions to vaccinations are rare, they can potentially be life-threatening. If you notice any of the following symptoms within a few minutes to hours after vaccination, please seek veterinary care immediately:
-
Fainting or collapsing
-
Persistent vomiting or diarrhoea
-
Persistent and severe coughing
-
Difficulty breathing
-
Red, itchy bumps all over the body (resembling hives)
-
Swelling or puffiness in or around the face, eyes, nose, or neck
It's essential to inform our vet if your pet has experienced any prior reactions to vaccines or medications. If you're concerned about the possibility of an allergic reaction, we recommend waiting in our clinic for 30 to 60 minutes after vaccination before taking your pet home. Your pet's safety is our top priority, and we're here to address any concerns you may have.
